The Story of the Match

BROMLEY the SkyBet League leaders came from behind to beat Shrewsbury Town last night 2-1 at the Copperjax Community Stadium in front of 4,780 fans down in leafy Bromley as they look like certainties for promotion to League 1 come the 2nd of May as they went seven points clear at the top of the table with four matches remaining of the season.

Shrewsbury Town opened the scoring against the run of play in fine style in the 6th minute after a fast counter attack through Bradley Ihionvien with a left footed shot which Grant Smith almost smothered but the force of the shot took it over the line to give the visitors the lead from an assist by Tom Anderson to make it 0-1.

The visitors were comfortable soaking up the Bromley pressure until six minutes before the interval when Bromley equalised to make it 1-1 in the 39th minute through Marcus Ifill with a right footed shot at the back post hooked in from an assist by Will Hondemarck.

After the interval Bromley upped the gears and four minutes into the second half Kyle Cameron volleyed in with a left footed shot to make it 2-1 after heavy pressure on the Shrewsbury goal.
